An MLBPA-Certified Agent and licensed California attorney, Kurt oversees the day-to-day operations of KVA Sports. Kurt has spent his entire professional career working in the sports industry, including the last 25+ years in Professional Baseball. He began his career with the Kansas City Chiefs, where he worked in marketing, promotions and special events, before accepting a position with the San Diego Padres in 1996. A licensed attorney, Kurt eventually left the Padres organization to begin a career in athlete representation. In addition to advising several top players in the annual MLB Amateur Draft, Kurt has negotiated several Major League contracts, has represented numerous players through MLB Arbitration and has successfully negotiated professional contracts in Asia. He has also negotiated numerous endorsement deals with some of the largest sports-related companies in the industry.  A product of Florida’s Foster Care System, Kurt has a particular passion for helping at-risk youth “find their way” and spends a great deal of time speaking with these individuals about developing and pursuing personal goals and objectives. His life story was chronicled in his best-selling Memoir, Behind in the Count: My Journey from Juvenile Delinquent to Baseball Agent.
